Before leaving a child with anyone, we strongly encourage parents to:

• Meet and interview the sitter in person.
• Ask for and contact multiple references directly.
• Verify identification and any claimed certifications.
• Consider a professional background check where lawful and appropriate.
• Start with a short trial visit while you are at home.
• Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, do not proceed.

Babysitters listed on this site are independent individuals. They are not employees, contractors, agents, or representatives of RecommendedSitters. Any agreement, schedule, payment, or employment relationship is strictly between the parent and the babysitter, and any resulting legal, tax, or insurance obligations belong to them.
