Safety & Trust
At RecommendedSitters, our goal is simple: help parents find babysitters through recommendations from other parents they trust.
Unlike traditional babysitter marketplaces, babysitters cannot simply create a profile and advertise themselves. Every public babysitter profile begins with a recommendation from a parent who has personally hired that sitter.
How RecommendedSitters Works
Parent Recommendations Come First
A babysitter only appears on RecommendedSitters after being recommended by a parent who has personally used them. We ask parents to share their experience so other families can benefit from trusted recommendations.
Parent Verification
- Verify their email address.
- Provide a Facebook or LinkedIn profile for administrative verification.
- Certify that their recommendation is truthful and based on personal experience.
Social media profiles are used only to help verify the account and are never displayed publicly.
Babysitter Profile Claims
After a babysitter has been recommended, they may claim their profile. To claim a profile, the sitter must verify their email, provide a Facebook or LinkedIn profile for administrative verification, and confirm that they are the individual represented by the profile.
Once approved, the sitter may update information such as photos, availability, certifications, and biography.
What We Verify
Our verification process is intended to improve trust within the community. Verification may include email verification, administrative review, and confirmation of the sitter's claimed identity through the provided social profile.
A "Verified Profile" indicates that the individual claiming the profile has completed our verification process. It does not mean that RecommendedSitters has verified a person's qualifications, experience, references, criminal history, or suitability for childcare unless explicitly stated.
What We Do Not Do
RecommendedSitters is not an employer, staffing agency, or childcare provider. We do not:
- Employ babysitters
- Supervise babysitters
- Guarantee the accuracy of every recommendation
- Guarantee availability
- Guarantee qualifications
- Guarantee safety
- Perform background checks unless specifically stated
- Endorse any individual babysitter
Parents are solely responsible for evaluating whether a babysitter is appropriate for their family.
Our Recommendations to Parents
Before hiring any babysitter, we encourage every family to:
- Meet the sitter in person.
- Interview the sitter.
- Request references.
- Confirm certifications if they are important to your family.
- Discuss expectations before the first babysitting job.
- Trust your own judgment.
Community First
RecommendedSitters exists because the best babysitter recommendations have always come from other parents. Our goal is to make those trusted recommendations easier to discover while helping families support one another.
Together, we're building a safer, stronger community for local families. Thank you for being part of it.
What our badges do not mean
A "Verified Profile" or "Verified Parent" badge means our team reviewed an email address and a social profile. It is not identity verification, and it is not a criminal background check. Every sitter must be at least 16 years old. Always meet in person, check references, and trust your instincts.
