Terms of Service

By using RecommendedSitters.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of a household or family, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for them.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account, submit a recommendation, or contact a sitter. Babysitters listed on the Site must be at least 16 years old. We may decline, suspend, or remove any account or listing at our discretion.

The Site helps parents share the babysitters they trust. Listings begin with a recommendation from a parent who says they personally hired that sitter. We provide the platform only. We are not a party to any arrangement, conversation, agreement, payment, or employment relationship between a parent and a babysitter.

Nothing on the Site is an endorsement, certification, guarantee, or vetting of any person. Trust indicators and badges reflect what users told us, not an independent investigation.

You are solely responsible for:

• Interviewing and meeting any sitter before leaving them with your children.
• Requesting and checking references, certifications, and identification.
• Deciding whether to obtain a background check, and complying with the laws that apply to it.
• Agreeing on pay, hours, duties, and any household rules directly with the sitter.
• Any tax, insurance, or employment obligations that arise from hiring someone.

Recommendations, profiles, messages, photos and other content are submitted by users. They are personal opinions and statements of the people who wrote them, not statements by RecommendedSitters. You are responsible for what you submit and confirm that it is honest, accurate, based on your own experience, and does not infringe anyone's rights.

By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute it on and in connection with the Site. We may edit, moderate, decline, or remove content at any time, including recommendations we cannot reasonably verify.

Do not submit a recommendation for someone you have not personally hired, do not impersonate anyone, and do not post content that is false, harassing, discriminatory, or unlawful.

Babysitters cannot create listings on their own. A sitter may claim a listing that a parent created and, once approved, may edit their own profile details, rate, and availability. Sitters are independent individuals, not employees, contractors, or agents of RecommendedSitters. A sitter may respond to or ignore any request for any reason.

Contact details for babysitters are not published publicly. Messages sent through the Site are forwarded to the sitter along with the contact information you choose to provide. Do not use the Site to send spam, solicitations, or abusive messages.

• Scraping, copying, or reselling listings or user data.
• Using the Site for recruiting, advertising, or commercial solicitation.
• Attempting to access accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to use.
• Interfering with the operation or security of the Site.

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, safety, or suitability of any babysitter or parent. We do not warrant that listings, availability, rates, or recommendations are accurate or current.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecommendedSitters and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, or harm arising out of or related to your use of the Site, any recommendation, any communication, or any interaction, arrangement, or hiring between a parent and a babysitter. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RecommendedSitters and its owners from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your content, or your interactions or arrangements with any other user.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove listings, or restrict access at any time, including for conduct we believe puts families at risk.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which RecommendedSitters is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
